Hooper is in his second year with the athletic communications department at Oregon State University, joining the staff in Aug., 2017. He currently serves as the primary contact for the Beaver’s wrestling, rowing, track & field and cross country teams, and has an expanded role with football.
Prior to his arrival in Corvallis, he provided support to the media relations department at Minnesota State University Moorhead as the primary contact for men’s basketball and women’s volleyball.
Hooper worked as an Assistant Sports Information Director at Marist College. He served as the primary contact for nine NCAA Division I varsity sports, compiling statistics, writing press releases, creating game notes and programs, and serving as a liaison between the athletics department and local and national media outlets.
A 2014 graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, Hooper earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a minor in economics. During his time at Stevens Point he served as a sports information assistant for the athletics department, and worked various NCAA Championship events.
He is originally from Pocahontas, Iowa.
